LINDY Z is a Los Angeles area based company founded on the premise of excellent design, quality craftsmanship and total customer care. Melinda Grieger, LINDY Z's founder, was between projects in Hollywood when she was given the gift of a hat making class. When she finished the weeks of working on hats her friends were thrilled with her creations. While wearing her own hats around town she discovered that people were looking for quality, hand made, custom hats. They were so interested that they would literally buy the hat off her head! While working on various motion pictures, she sold her hats on the sets and listened to the encouragement of others. With her creations in tow, she approached Barney's of New York and they agreed with her friends on the set and started selling Lindy Z hats in their stores. Henri Bendels was soon to follow along with many upscale boutiques in the Los Angeles area. After working the retail world for a while, it was clear to Melinda that her real love was the creativity and artistry involved with the custom creations. She went back to the one of a kind world. Clients asked her to branch out and create costumes for their dance groups and soloists. The next progression was to ice skating costumes for competition. Having been a dancer herself, Melinda enjoyed working with the dancers and skaters in creating beautiful, artistic and comfortable costumes. LINDY Z has been in business for over ten years in the Los Angeles area. Whether it is a bridal veil or costume for competition, the dedication to creating beautiful, one of a kind wearable works of art has been the hallmark all along. |
